Class descriptions

Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Ballet Classes

The RAD offers an internationally-recognised portfolio of examinations and assessments designed to encourage, motivate and reward students of all ages and abilities.  These syllabus classes provide a structure for our students to progress their learning and achievement in dance.

Pre-school Ballet

A fun and lively dance class for 3-4 year-olds that uses props, storytelling and imagination to develop physical movement and encourage creativity, expression and confidence. The perfect foundation for the RAD ballet syllabus.

Contemporary Dance

Our contemporary dance classes are the perfect way to start the weekend, giving dancers the chance to let go, use their creativity, feel the music and simply enjoy movement.  The Contemporary Academy class for ages 13+ challenges our dancers with more advanced contemporary technique and performance skills.  Previous dance experience is recommended before joining this class.

Ballet Fitness

For our dancers to reach their maximum potential they need to keep fit through building stamina, muscle strength and joint flexibility.  Starting with an aerobic workout and finishing with stretching for flexibility and meditation to calm the mind, the main focus of this class is Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT), a revolutionary programme that uses fit balls and resistance bands to help train muscle memory.

Pointe Class

A dedicated pointe work class for our senior students to build up their strength and confidence in pointe work.  This is an invitation only class for those in Grade 4 and above attending multiple classes a week and who have gained the strength required to dance on pointe.

Private lessons

Private one to one classes for children are available at a cost of £25 per 30-minute session (£50 for 1-hour or £37.50 for 45 minutes).  These are ideal for beginners to ballet or those with specific aims such as improving knowledge of an RAD syllabus or developing muscle strength and fitness through progressing ballet technique (PBT) exercises.  Contact us for more information.
